¡Seguimos creciendo, sonriendo y aprendiendo juntos!

Self-Care Workshop: Learning to Brush Our Teeth

Over the past few weeks, 1st and 2nd grade students have enjoyed a very special activity in their Blooming class, dedicated to personal care. This time, we focused on a fundamental aspect of daily health: how to maintain a healthy mouth.

We began the workshop by exploring the parts of the mouth and the types of teeth, learning the vocabulary in English. Through images, examples, and participatory activities, the children were able to identify each part and understand what it is used for.

We talked about the importance of dental hygiene, when and how we should brush our teeth, and what habits help us maintain a healthy mouth. All this took place in a fun, friendly, and motivating environment.

To make learning even more practical, we learned a song in English that helps them remember the steps for brushing correctly. They loved it! Thanks to the rhythm and movements, everyone was able to easily memorize the sequence and understand it in a playful way.

Each student created their own personal instruction booklet on how to brush their teeth. They drew, wrote, and decorated the pages, demonstrating what they had learned and developing their autonomy. They turned out beautifully!

To finish, we played a practical game using a model mouth similar to the one in the attached video, which allowed them to practice the brushing technique hands-on. This part was especially fun: the students took turns, corrected each other’s movements, and encouraged one another.

It was a very enriching experience, in which, in addition to learning English, the children developed healthy habits that they can apply in their daily lives.

We continue to grow, smile, and learn together!
