This term, 1st and 2nd grade students have taken part in a very special project in the Blooming subject, as part of the Home Care workshop. Through this project, students learned in a meaningful and hands-on way how to do an important daily life task: doing the laundry and taking care of clothes.

The project started with an introduction phase, where students learned basic vocabulary in English related to laundry and clothes (clothes, washing machine, soap, wet, dry, etc.). This vocabulary was introduced through songs, games, and simple explanations, making learning fun and engaging.

In the next stage, students worked with printed clothes, which they had previously colored and decorated. Using these materials, they practiced sorting clothes by color, understanding why it is important to separate clothes before washing them.

The most exciting part came at the end: the real-life experience. With guidance, students used a real washing machine, put the clothes inside, added detergent, and followed the basic steps of washing clothes. Afterwards, they also hung the clothes to dry, learning the difference between wet and dry clothes.

This project helped students learn English vocabulary, develop personal autonomy, and acquire essential life skills, all through an active, practical, and age-appropriate learning experience.
