This term, in our Art class, 5th and 6th grade students have learnt about contemporary art thanks to professionals from the Museum of Contemporary Art of Galicia.
Through an engaging talk, they explained what contemporary art is, how it differs from other artistic styles, and, most importantly, how art can express ideas, emotions, and perspectives about today’s world. We discovered that art does not always have to be “beautiful” in the traditional sense—it can also make us think, question, and even surprise us.
In addition to the talk, we took part in fun and creative activities. We experimented with different materials, techniques, and forms of expression, learning that any object, idea, or feeling can become art. We even created our own artworks inspired by contemporary artists!
This experience helped us develop our imagination, creativity, and ability to observe the world with a more open and curious mind. Now we know that art is everywhere—and that everyone can be an artist.
